Nadine Sutherland reveals she struggled with suicidal thoughts in early career

Veteran Jamaican musician Nadine Sutherland recently shared that earlier in her career she had struggled with suicidal thoughts.

The musician made the revelation in a post on social media where she shared a throwback photo of herself, encouraging others facing similar challenges to “never give up.”

While not delving too deep into the subject matter, the artiste who turned 56 earlier this year in March, hinted that the naysayers and rumors that grew with her rise to fame contributed to her low mood and negative thinking.

“So, the ‘hateration’ started with rumor mongering, the aim to ‘cancel’ her. She started entertaining suicidal thoughts, but held on” said Sutherland online.

“Many years later, she’s still here. My peeps, no matter what, never give up,” she added.

Sutherland sprung on to the entertainment scene when she was named the winner of a Tastee Talent competition, beating out world famous deejay Yellowman.

Throughout the 90s her career soared with various hits and collaborations including her mega hit song “Action” featuring Terror Fabulous.
