No one knew they were even dating but reggae star, Jesse Royal, and carnival entrepreneur Kandi King shocked fans on Sunday (September 13) when they announced that they were expecting their first child together.
Jaws dropped when a photo surfaced online which showed Jesse Royal smiling next to a visibly pregnant Kandi King.
King dropped the photo first, and in short order the photo was also available on Royal’s Instagram page.

We should have saw this coming?
While they kept evidence of their relationship under the radar, true fans would have saw this coming, as on July 31, Royal shared a post which piqued some interest and raised some eyebrows.
In wishing King a happy birthday back in July, here is what Royal had to say, “U have helped me grow in ways that I’m forever grateful for Inna real life! U are truly such a selfless, loving, faithful, thoughtful, transparent individual and on another level such a huge inspiration to me!
“From ur Resilience to ur Ethics to ur Ambition and Not to mention your Vision. I love the way u love me and I pray that life’s richest blessings follow u eternally because u truly deserve it Kweeen! Happy Birthday My Love,” added Royal who at the time shared a photo of the always gorg Kandi.
While fans may have been late to the dating news, just about everyone share congratulatory messages for the couple, with some like Tami Chin Mitchell, sharing her message on both Royal’s and King’s Instagram pages.
“Dis nice so til!!!! Lawd man!!! I said it all already on @kingkandi page but congrats my brother,” said Tami- Chin Mitchell on Instagram.
“? Pure blessings,” added Dre Island.
Others to share congratulatory messages included, Naomi Cowan, Desha Ravers, Romaine Virgo, Jodi Jinxx, Tess-Maria Leon among others.
Royal is the father to a three-year-old daughter who he welcomed with then girlfriend Lea in October 2016.
He’s also godfather to Leah Tavares-Finson and dancehall act, Jahvillani’s son.
