Tommy Lee Sparta brought along for apartment raids- Police

Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta was escorted by St James Police to Kingston last week, where police carried out raids at several apartments in the corporate area.

The police made the disclosure in a release sent on Friday (July 31) in which they said that a wanted man was taken into police custody, following a raid at a guest house in the St Andrew Central division.

The release further noted that ten persons connected with the St James-based Sparta Gang were also taken into police custody.

While the release mentions the artiste, it is unclear what role if any Sparta played in the operations.

The artiste turned himself into police after he was named as a person of interest by St. James police on July 6.

Police say Sparta is being held in police custody under the State of Public Emergency (SOE).

Under the SOE, individuals can be held for 90 days without being charged.
