Popular social media personality, turned dancehall artiste, Yanique ‘Curvy Diva’ Barrett is dropping her Eleganza Remix on Instagram later today (November 25).
Barrett teamed up with Nigerian based Afrobeat artiste, Solid Star, for the track which is a remake of his original single released more than a year ago.
Barrett said she chose November 25 to release the song in honour of her now deceased mother, who would have celebrated her birthday today.
According to Barrett, her late mom was very supportive of her career even though it went against the grain of their strict Seventh Day Adventist upbringing.
“Doing this premiere on her birthday means so much to me because even though she never followed up dancehall she always believed I could do anything I set my mind to; this my way of letting her know that I’m gonna continue to make her proud of me in everything I do,” said Barrett.
‘ Curvy Diva’ who is to release an EP early next year said that her latest afrobeat song gives fans a glimpse of what’s to come with her upcoming ” Underestimated” project.
“The EP will showcase my ability to tap into different flows and sounds that my fans have never heard before and that’s why it’s called Underestimated,” Yanique shared
The Underestimated EP will have seven tracks with a mix of Afrobeat, Dancehall, R&B, Reggae and Trap sounds. Curvy Diva is looking at releasing the entire project early next year.
