Trudeau clings to power, forms a second minority government

Justin Trudeau won a third term on Monday (September 20) following a snap election in Canada.

According to the results from Elections Canada Trudeau’s Liberal Party was elected in 156 of the 338 seats in the House of Commons.

Conservatives under Erin O’Toole won 122 seats.

In Canada, a party needs 170 seats to form a majority in the House of Commons.

Despite the Liberal Party’s win, Trudeau will form a minority government.
