Jamaica recorded 38 new COVID-19 infections on Monday (October 26), in line with a recent trend which has been emerging, highlighting a decline in new cases of the virus.
However, the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) reported that there were four new COVID-19 fatalities, bringing the island’s death toll to 196.
The new fatalities included a 29-year-old female from St Thomas with 56-years being the mean age of the three other deceased individuals.
St Catherine recorded nine new COVID-19 infections, with Kingston and St Andrew (KSA) reporting seven new infections; nonetheless KSA continues to be the area with overwhelming amount of COVID infections.
Jamaica has 4,125 active cases of COVID-19, with approximately 20,000 citizens in home quarantine and 115 in hospital.
