The body of a truck driver was found on Saturday in a section of the Mundecot river near the Lloyds main road in St Thomas.
The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Richard Simpson, also affectionately called’Pefis,’ of Logwood in the parish.
Reports are that Simpson attended a round robin in Heartease district on Friday and returned home at about 2:00 a.m. where he was seen by a neighbour who described him as appearing intoxicated.
Shortly after returning home, Simpson left again to attend another event in the neighbouring community of Lloyds.
The following morning, Simpson’s lifeless body was observed with multiple stab wounds in a section of the river.
The St Thomas police are probing the incident.
