The police have confirmed that religious leader Kevin O Smith perished in a vehicular crash in Linstead, St Catherine on Monday (October 25).
Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay confirmed the incident in a recorded video put out by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
In addition, Lindsay confirmed that one of its members perished in the crash.
According to Lindsay the collision occurred about 9:30 a.m when the vehicle Smith was travelling overturned.
She noted that the police were taking Smith and a member of the congregation to Kingston, in two separate vehicles.
Lindsay shared that Smith died at the Linstead Hospital.
While a cop,who was also injured ,in the collision died at the Spanish Town hospital.
The other injured persons are being treated at the Spanish Town hospital.
It remains unclear what caused the vehicle to overturn.
