Haitian PM wants more Kenyan Police to be deployed

Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille is calling for the deployment of more Kenyan police officer to the
French-speaking island.

Connille’s calls comes after 200 Kenyan officers arrived in Haiti on June 25, as part of a multinational mission being led by the east African nation.

Despite the calls made by the PM, insider sources say a further deployment was unlikely given that the campsite promised for the accommodation of the officers was still being constructed.

In addition, other infrastructural needs, tools and materials remained outstanding.

The Haitian PM is to continue conversations with U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, about the deployment, to which the United States is to provide logistical support.
