Watch: Scenes from across the island as Tropical Storm Grace drenches Jamaica

Tropical Storm Grace dumped heavy rains across Jamaica on Tuesday (August 17) tumbling trees and downing power lines.

Initial reports are that about 30,000 customers are without power, primarily those in the parishes of St. Mary, Portland and St Ann.

However, a Jamaica Public Services representative has said it would likely be Wednesday (August 18) before power is restored.

Similarly, emergency crews attached to the National Works Agency noted that it would likely be after emergency warning have been lifted before toppled trees would be cleared.
