Digicel’s corporate office in downtown Kingston is to close on Tuesday (August 11) to allow for a sanitization exercise.
The Den understands that an e-mail was sent out on Monday which informed staff members not to attend work on Tuesday.
The sanitization exercise was explained in the e-mail as a necessary procedure conducted “out of an abundance of caution” as a source revealed that a member of staff had tested positive for COVID-19.
The deep cleaning exercise is understood to extend to IBEX suites, as they also have offices on the building.
A source revealed that since the start of the pandemic Digicel staff were on a rotation system which allowed them to work one week at home and the other in the office.
